Pastor Freddie L. Thomas, Sr., President, AIHC
Chancellor, AIHC School of Biblical Studies
Pastor Freddie L. Thomas, Sr. serves as the President of the Association of Independent Holiness Churches (AIHC) and Chancellor of the AIHC School of Biblical Studies. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and continued his education at the University of Memphis. After transferring, he completed his studies at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences, earning credentials as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
Pastor Thomas has devoted most of his life to ministry and Christian service. He received his minister’s license in 1973 and was ordained as an elder in 1975. For thirteen years, he faithfully served as Assistant Pastor of Rock of Ages Church of God in Christ. In 1993, he answered the call to pastoral leadership and founded Christ Communion Temple Church, where he continues to shepherd and guide the congregation.
Driven by a deep passion for ministry and a burden to support independent churches, Pastor Thomas established the Association of Independent Holiness Churches. Under his leadership, the Association provides a spiritual and organizational framework that allows autonomous churches of similar faith and practice to unite in fellowship, encouragement, and shared mission.
As President, Pastor Thomas oversees the Executive Committee, including the vice-presidents and the Executive Board of pastors, helping to guide the Association toward growth, unity, and the expansion of new churches. His leadership reflects the mission of the Association: to provide individuals with the support and resources needed to fulfill God’s Great Commission, as commanded by Jesus in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.”
Through his vision, the Association fulfills its purpose of giving visible form and corporate structure to autonomous churches with similar beliefs and aspirations, while also achieving its goal of providing opportunities for fellowship, ministerial training, and continuing education for pastors and congregations of member churches.
In his role as Chancellor of the AIHC School of Biblical Studies, Pastor Thomas works to ensure that the institution remains faithful to its mission, vision, and goals. He promotes compliance with academic and ministerial standards while cultivating both internal and external relationships that support the school’s growth and development. Through this educational ministry, he helps equip current and future leaders with the biblical knowledge, spiritual formation, and practical skills necessary for effective ministry.
Through decades of faithful service, Pastor Freddie L. Thomas, Sr. continues to demonstrate a steadfast commitment to strengthening churches, training leaders, and advancing the work of the Gospel among independent holiness congregations.
