Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency technique that is designed to save lives.  It's purpose is to keep blood and oxygen flowing through the body when a person's heart and breathing have stopped (Helper, 2018). This session will train students on how to resuscitate/revive human lives and provide first-aid assistance to individuals in emergency situations.  This training will also include practical steps one must take in providing CPR and first-aid.

The Scott’s have over 80 years of combined experience in healthcare.  Cheryl’s background is in nursing and Mark’s is in medicine.  They have each been certified CPR instructors for more than 30 years which is evidenced in their style of interacting with participants in their classes. Both have advanced degrees in their fields of study.   Individuals who have taken classes from the Scott’s universally comment on how “at-ease” they were with the training.  All express confidence in their ability to respond to emergency situations whether they involve adults, children, or infants.  The materials presented by the Scott’s include training in the recognition of symptoms of heart attack, stroke, and other emergencies that require prompt assessment and intervention.  No participant question goes unanswered and all have the confidence necessary to answer the call for help following completion of the Scott’s presentation and training.  Our faith in God unites us and gives us the strength and courage to prepare others to respond to those in need for it is written in Luke 5:17: “On one of those days, as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with him to heal.”
